I joined Busboys and Poets in October 2018 as its Social Media + Brand Manager. My role entailed managing its website, social properties, creating content, composing its email newsletter, press releases, designing merchandise and overseeing all messaging.
During my time, I grew Busboys’ social audience organically by 4.5K users, launched its IGTV channel, garnering 19.2K views (from Jan-May 2019), created cohesive branding for all of its restaurants, designed its 2019 merchandise, shot and edited photos at major events and helped launch its seventh location.

Social
Political discussions are a priority to Busboys’ brand, as a progressive cultural hub. Topics of discussion varied from discrimination, to incarceration, to LGBTQ+ issues, reproductive rights and more.
For Trump’s Border Wall speech we wanted to visualize facts and data points to debunk some of Trump’s claims. I researched data points and designed the Instagram Story screens below (not all in the series are included) as a lead up to the speech.
Events
Busboys and Poets has dozens of events a week and several high-profile events a year. For many of these events, I managed marketing, press, design, live-streaming and event photos.

Merchandise
As the main designer for Busboys and Poets, I had the opportunity to design a number of the items being given away or sold in the restaurants and bookstores. The items I got to design include t-shirts, tote bags, bookmarks and stickers.
